"Caress the detail, the divine detail" - Vladimir Nabokov
"God is in the details" Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
Maybe we scale it up - think of our project as if microscopic. Geckos' feet? The structure of bones?
Ultimately, what would a tiny insect or a lizard experience?
Also, some beautiful subtle movement could be magical. Some shimmering or quivering or rotating? We could reference movement in this way i.e, joints in a hand, or some movement like a lizard walking.
In line with this is the work of Thomas Heatherwick. He makes the most wonderful details work on a grand scale. Have a look at these sites!
What if we make use of string/rope/fibre, and suspend our bamboo pieces off that?
